With a 10,000 feet elevation the magnificent amphitheater of Cedar Breaks is a perfect destination to escape the summer heat. Stay for an hour, stay for a day and hike one of trails that hug the rim or take you off into the backcountry. The park entrance is a scenic 30 minute drive from Cedar City.

If you're lucky enough to find space in the campground you can take advantage of the monument's designation as one of the world's only Dark Sky Parks. The lack of ambient light together with the elevation make this a perfect spot to stargaze.
