Kodachrome Basin State Park

Sandstone spires and chimneys up to 150 feet high in a beautiful setting. There’s an easy loop trail that allows you to take in most of the features, or just wander at will.

If you're travelling in the Escalante area or you've been hiking on one of the many trails off Cottonwood Canyon Road Kodachrome is worth an hour or more of your time. Chimney Rock is the star here but there are many other spires and pinnacles together with a few arches. Note: Shakespear Arch fell recently (2019).  There are a few hiking trails here, including the popular 3.5 mile Panorama Loop which is rated easy and skirts some of the most scenic features..
