Here you can wander freely on a 1.8 mile roundtrip trail among the tracks and half-buried dinosaur and plant fossils from the 150 million year old Jurassic period. There are numbered spots to help you identify what you're looking at. Nearby are the remains of an old mine and the Halfway Stage Station – a ‘lunch stop’ for travellers between Moab and Thompson. A great way to spend a few hours... and it’s all free.

To get there drive 15 miles north of Moab on U.S. 191, then turn left at an intersection just north of mile marker 141. Cross the railroad tracks and continue 2 miles on a good dirt road to the Dinosaur Trailhead. Drive on for 1 mile on a sandy road to reach the Stage Station.
