The hike follows a popular but technically difficult 4WD trail – on weekdays it’s usually devoid of vehicles. The gentle uphill trail is very scenic and passes some obstacles that you wouldn’t believe a vehicle could negotiate. The trail is about 5 miles one way but  goals could be the Window Arch 3 miles from the trailhead or the impressive Pritchett Arch at around 4 miles. There are also numerous freestyle hiking opportunities.

To get to the trailhead, drive about 6 miles from the junction of highway 191 and Kane Creek Boulevard in downtown Moab. The road, which eventually turns to gravel, follows the river to a parking area on the left. As this is private land a fee is payable as you enter the canyon.
