High up on the Moab Rim in the Behind-the-Rocks area is a small but unusual-shaped arch which frames a perfect view of Mount Tukunikivatz and other La Sal peaks. The hike follows a 4WD road (not recommended for stock SUVs) and then climbs steeply up a cliff to the top of the rim. The unsigned (and poorly-cairned) 6 mile roundtrip trail will have you perspiring in places.

To get there take a right onto the behind-the-Rocks road off highway 191 and about 10 miles south of downtown Moab and drive as far as you feel comfortable. It gets rough! Then hike the road towards the rim. You'll pass Moab Rim Arch – you'll need to take a side trip to get under it – until the road dead ends. From here you can just pick out Tukunikivatz Arch high above you. Now you need to use your route-finding skills plus the occasional cairn in a scramble to the top.
